History

The Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers – UAE Chapter (PICE‑UAE) traces its beginnings to the growing community of Filipino civil engineers who migrated to the United Arab Emirates in the early 2000s. As Filipino professionals took on key roles in infrastructure development, construction, water systems, transportation, and consultancy across the Emirates, the need for a formal organization that would unify, support, and elevate Filipino civil engineers became increasingly evident.

PICE‑UAE was formally established as an overseas chapter of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Inc., the accredited professional organization for civil engineers in the Philippines. The chapter’s founding members envisioned a professional body that would uphold engineering excellence, strengthen camaraderie among Filipino engineers, and provide a platform for continuing professional development in the UAE.

Through coordinated efforts with PICE National Headquarters and the Philippine Embassy, the chapter was officially recognized and began organizing technical seminars, fellowship events, and membership programs.
